William E. Osborne, age 72, of Lily, WI, a former resident of Delavan, WI died Monday, January 2, 2017 at his home in Lily, after a long courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born on January 2, 1945 in Elkhorn, WI, the son of Charles and Mary (Baumiester) Osborne. He married Linda Koch on June 21, 1966. He was employed by Sta-Rite which later became Pentair in Delavan until retiring. Bill was a Delavan resident from the time of his marriage until 2003 when he and his wife moved to Janesville, WI. In 2006, they moved to Lily, WI where Bill was a member of the Lily Sno-Birds snowmobile club. He especially enjoyed grooming snowmobile trails for them. During the fall of the year, he drove truck for Sunnydale Farms assisting them with potato harvest. Bill loved riding ATV‘s, snowmobiling, spending time with his family and grandchildren (Papa was his name and spoiling was his game!), and working on the never ending honey-do list.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Linda Osborne, two sons, Hilbert (Anissa) Osborne of Orlando, FL, Joseph (Denise) Osborne of Janesville, seven grandchildren, Chloe, Erica, Noah, Brooke, Emily, Brooke and Hailey, three sisters, Florence VanMeter, Shirley (Russ) Kube, Chris (Al) Villegas and one brother, Mike Osborne. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Krueger, a sister, Sue Cowan and two brothers, John Osborne and Richard Osborne.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Rev. Jamie Swanson of Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church will officiate. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. There will also be a celebration of Bill’s life at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Lily Sno-Birds Clubhouse, W4505 Turtle Lake Road, Lily.
